If it’s just a change of lifestyle, they want to get fit and healthy, want to train so they can eat whatever they want or if they want to improve their performance and get to a competitive level in their sport. Vu Tran
Weightlifting Coach at Heights Barbell Club
About me: Growing up playing basketball and a fan of Michael Jordan, I have always been into all things sport. Eventually started my gym journey and then found CrossFit. Through CrossFit I also began my coaching journey eventually becoming a full time head coach at a CrossFit gym for many years (8+ years experience). During this time I developed my passion for the sport and movement of Olympic weightlifting and began to focus my training towards that and competing. In 2016 I was able to become NSW Senior State Champion and qualify for Nationals after a couple years competing in olympic weightlifting. I then decided to focus my coaching craft towards olympic weightlifting more and helping others find their passion for the sport.
My Coaching Style: Working with the individual to find out what works best for them as well as trying to instil work ethic, consistency and empowering the athlete development through awareness and understanding so that they are not dependent on me. I try to deliver fairly technical coaching and progression but disguising it in a simpler, easier to understand way as the outcome or result is the main thing that matters not how many big words you can use to describe something as a coach.
When I’m not working at X2166 you’ll find me ... Training, playing basketball, creating content for my social media brands, and looking after my new puppy Kilo.
I'm passionate about: Weightlifting, strength training, adding value on social media, coaching, helping people.
